Our cottage bacon is a true delicacy. It’s much leaner than “regular” bacon. Cottage bacon is sometimes called butt bacon (even though it's made from the shoulder), buckboard bacon, old time country bacon, and several other names, what ever you like to call it you won't be disappointed. Cottage bacon’s round sometimes oval or oblong shape makes it not only wonderful breakfast meat, but also a phenomenal addition to any burger or sandwich by providing full bacon coverage! Great for wrapping other tasty bits too. Our bacon is made with honey instead of sugar and is nitrate & nitrite free.
Note: Our cottage bacon may be either labeled Cottage Bacon or Butt Bacon just depending on which of our USDA processors prepared that particular batch for us. Either way it's the same cut of meat, and you won't be disappointed. Ingredients: Pork, water, contains 2% or less of the following: salt, honey, celery powder, lactic acid culture
1 lb. package
Our rare heritage hogs are born and raised on the farm and spend their entire lives on pasture. They are fed a diet of pasture grasses and roots, with supplemental hay and a small amount of soy-free, corn-free, and GMO-free grain. They also receive treats of eggs, fruits, nuts and vegetables raised here on the farm. All our meats are produced without added hormones or antibiotics. USDA-inspected & processed for health and safety.

We weren’ sure about what “butt bacon” meant! (its actually cut from the shoulder) but were pleasantly surprised at this being called bacon at all. It is a very lean, delicious piece of ham to us! You can’t go wrong here. It is pre-sliced and you have to cook over a low heat for a shorter amount of time. Once you get the hang of it, you will be very happy with your selection. My husband and I sometimes use this as a main course for our evening meal. Excellent!
